Overview:
May the force be with you as you visit the newest exhibit at
Boston’s Museum of Science titled, “Star Wars: Where Science Meets
Imagination.” Developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Ltd., the
new exhibit allows visitors to immerse
|
|
themselves in the Star Wars universe
as well as take a big sip of current scientific knowledge and
technologies of the future. Along with the Hayden Planetarium, also focusing on the Star Wars theme, the museum’s new exhibit incorporates much of the artwork, props, models, film clips and documentary footage.
Much of this will be more than familiar to Star Wars fans…such as Imperial walkers, Luke’s landspeeder, and C-3PO.
The exhibit also incorporates hands-on design activities to teach how today’s engineers develop new ideas. |
Visitors will also get a chance to visit a full-size replica of the cockpit of Episode IV's Millennium Falcon. Once inside, they can jump to light speed, as a multimedia presentation explores what we know about our own galaxy in a breathtaking, four and-a-half-minute trip to the edge of the Universe.
Featuring sound system from Bose Corporation, the recreated cockpit
debuts the technologies of 3Space™ audio systems, providing visitors
with a realistic three-dimensional audio experience. Located in the
Atrium (near the Mugar Omni Theater), the Falcon experience includes
a collectible pin.
