Overview:
Oktoberfest in Harvard Square celebrates autumn and the eclectic
atmosphere of the square. Get the family loaded into the car and
head for this can’t-miss event that offers more than 200 merchants
and vendors of artistic crafts, jewelry, clothing and other gifts
from around the world. If shopping isn’t on the day’s agenda, you’ll
still find plenty to do at this fun-filled daylong event.
|
|
Of course there is “festival fare” galore, but you might save
your taste buds for some of the square’s international cuisine
from area restaurants, brought to the streets for your sampling
pleasure. Entertainment is bursting out all over the place with live music on three stages, children’s rides, face painters, balloon twisters, puppeteers, dance troupes and Harvard Square’s famous performers. Wander the five square blocks of kid-friendly fun and sample a little bit of all of it.

While it’s a great opportunity for a little early holiday shopping, your kids will be more focused on getting that pumpkin painted on their face and a balloon poodle to take home. The air is crisp, the colors are dazzling, and the fun is non-stop. Make a day of it in Harvard Square!
