Overview:

The first ever Boston Pops Jazz Festival is sure to be a great time for both jazz enthusiasts and newcomers. The tunes you will hear will get you tapping your feet to the beat, moving with the rhythm and singing to the classics.

If you are new jazz, this is the perfect event for you. Sit back and relax to the soulful sounds of artist John Pizzarelli.

With his guitar and smooth sound, you are sure to become a true fan of jazz music. Regulars to the scene may recognize him as the son of famed jazz guitar legend Bucky Pizzarelli.

One thing is for sure—everyone will have a great time listening to the tunes of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and other legends in Pizzarelli’s musical tribute.

And don’t miss performances by chart-topper Jane Monheit. Well known for her awesome vocals and award-winning albums, Monheit will make you fall in love with jazz all over again as she performs classics from her most recent album.

But you don’t have to wait until 8pm to hear some great music. Arrive early and check out the music of tomorrow’s jazz stars from the Berklee College of Music. You can also enjoy a concert by the Boston Pops as they bring back big band classics from Fats Waller and Duke Ellington.

So grab the kids and head out for a week of musical fun. Introduce your children to the music you love to hear. Who knows, your child may be the next chart-topping trumpet or saxophone player.
