Overview:
The Duckling Day Parade in Boston is a Mother's Day event. This parade has
been inspired by Robert McCloskey's book "Make Way for Ducklings."
|
The small duckling sculptures are beautiful fixtures at the Public Garden during the warm months of the year. In winter, they are stored away. The parade on Mother's Day marks the return of the sculptures to the park.
This event is design especially for children who are encouraged to dress up for this festive occasion as one of the book's characters.
Children who wish to participate in the parade are asked to sign up and to purchase a ticket at $10 each.
|
The parade goes through the Boston Common and ends at the Public Garden. After the event, all the children will receive prizes and refreshments. The proceeds will benefit the Historic Neighborhoods Organization.
