Overview:

Boston’s Chinatown Festival centers itself around the city’s small but central locale. This annual summer festival features
plenty of traditional Asian arts performances, from Japanese drumming to Burmese dancing and Peking Opera.

Kids will be enthralled by the martial arts displays and intrigued by the wide array of food choices.

While the neighborhood is predominantly Chinese it also features Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean and Thai restaurants.

You can take in the culture and enjoy a culinary feast as well.

Chinatown is next to the downtown shopping district, so you can also get in some great treasure hunting here and at the shops and art institutions of the Back Bay neighborhood.

Make sure you gather the group together and take a picture at the brightly colored gateway to Chinatown.

This is a great chance to familiarize yourself and your kids with other ethnic flavors and sights.

They’ll be interested and curious, and more than a little excited to explore another piece of the big old world beyond their small one.
