The Orpheum Foxborough Theater opened in 1852 as a Music Hall and is now considered
a historic building. This is the place where the first Tchaikovsky's piano
concerto was played in the New England area and it was also the first home of
the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Since that era, the
theater was converted into a silent movie theater in 1926 and up graded in 1984.
Finally, it was closed. The Orpheum Regional
Performing Arts Center purchased the theater and in 1994 opened it after
performing the needed renovation.
Today, this 400-seat facility brings family-friendly shows,
plays and spectaculars from around the globe.
