Have You Been Here? Write about it!

The Museum of Science, opened in 1864, was first known as the New England Museum of Natural History and was founded by a group of six men interested in collecting and studying natural history specimens and artifacts.

Since that time, the museum has both moved and greatly expanded and has always been on the cutting-edge of science education, offering wonderful hands-on, interactive exhibits that are sure to delight the entire family. Visitors can learn about a number of different fields of science under one roof.

Fascinating exhibits include information on subjects like computers, the undersea world, dinosaurs, light, natural mysteries, birds, mapping, model-making, insects, and much more. A number of live presentations are offered daily on a variety of subjects and live animals are often used in the demonstrations.

Boston’s mass transit has a stop that brings visitors directly to the Museum of Science so it’s easy to reach from just about anywhere in the city. The cost of admission is quite reasonable and may be purchased as a combination package which includes the Omni Max Theatre, Planetarium, and Laser Show.
