The Blue Hills Trailside Museum is the name of the interpretive center
that’s situated on the 7,000 acre Blue Hills Reservation, managed by
the Massachusetts Audubon Society.
The Reservation is just a short drive from downtown Boston and
stretches from Quincy to Dedham and Milton to Randolph,
providing a wonderful green area for city dwellers and visitors
to enjoy during their leisure time.
Visitors here can climb to
the top of Great Blue Hill for a look at the city, or
participate in a variety of recreational activities including
hiking, biking, ice skating, fishing, horseback riding, rock
climbing, and more.
The Blue Hills Trailside Museum offers visitors of all ages a
number of indoor exhibits that provide information about the
flora and fauna you may encounter of the 150 miles of trails
within the Reservation.
Outdoor exhibits are plentiful as well
and the museum offers a number of special programs that families
will find especially attractive, including live animal
presentations, nature stories, and pond walks.
