Life is Good Pumpkin Festival

Location: Boston Commons

Time: October 21, 12-8 pm
Cost: FREE

At the Life is Good Pumpkin Festival…well, life is good! This day-long event benefits Camp Sunshine for kids, and makes it fun to help others. You can bring your carved pumpkin and candles to register for the Guinness World Record for the most lit pumpkins—now where else can

you do that? If that’s not enough fun for you, there’s plenty more to welcome you.

A Pyramid of Pumpkins 40 feet high will greet your arrival, sure to inspire a little wonder from the kids, and some “Cool” comments too. Good old-fashioned family fun is the theme of the day, with food and activities like face-painting and magic shows to entertain one and all.

Adding to the charm are a pie-eating contest, a hay maze, a carving contest and the Gargantuan Gourds Guessing Game. Four live bands will keep toes tapping and heads bobbing during the festivities.

The Halloween spirit is combined with the spirit of giving at this pumpkiny day, with al profits going to benefit the Camp, a retreat for kids with life-threatening illnesses. Come out and dance the day away while supporting a terrific cause, and your kids will learn all about the fun of the holiday along with some bigger lessons of the heart.

And by the way, it takes 28,952 pumpkins to break the world record, so you are definitely needed at this smashing event.
