Have You Been Here? Write about it!

From that historic first meeting where the colonists refused to pay the Tea Tax and started the revolution in 1773, the Old South Meeting House has gone through many eras. It was built in 1729 as a place where people used to worship.

Throughout the years, it served as a meeting place in many occasions, always serving the needs of the community and the nation.

Today this museum and historic site is a gathering place for discussion and celebration, and a living symbol of our country's quest for freedom and justice.

There’s a bandstand used for concerts and theatrical productions, and large special events are often held here, especially in the warm months. If you’re in Boston at Christmas time, check out the huge lighted tree in the Common.
