Have You Been Here? Write about it!

The USS Constitution, more commonly known as “Old Ironsides”, is one of the first Naval Ships ever to be commissioned by the U.S. Navy after its formation in 1794. Built in Boston, she was put to sea, as they say, in 1798 and remains the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world.

The ship has a rich history, including battles in the War of 1812 and a stint as a training ship for midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy before and during the Civil War.

The USS Constitution assumed its spot in Boston in 1934, becoming known as “America’s Ship” and representing the proud Naval heritage of the United States.

Guests of all ages, especially those who love ships, will enjoy a tour of the old but recently refurbished ship, which includes visits to storerooms, armories, sleeping quarters, officers’ staterooms, the galley, dining area, and much more.

Visitors to Boston can tour this amazing ship all year long. Hours vary according to season. Guests should arrive at least 30 minutes earlier than their scheduled tour time to allow ample time to travel through security.
