Built in Boston, she was put to sea, as they say, in 1798 and remains the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world. The ship has a rich history, including battles in the War of 1812 and a stint as a training ship for midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy before and during the Civil War.
